Background Information:

The System's Extended Contract Program Proposal for the 2012 – 2013 school year is attached. The program must have Board approval annually. The total amount allocated to our System by the State for the 2012 – 2013 school year is $41,900, which is a decrease of $24,300 based on the amount received during the 2011 – 2012 school year. All activities within the proposal represent the most effective and efficient use of our extended contract resources in meeting the highest priority needs of our students. Activities funded with extended contract funds include, but are not limited to, remediation, intervention, and tutoring. Although the report indicates that it is due to the State by September 1, 2012, we did not receive the program proposal documents in time for our August or September meetings.

I recommend approval of the Extended Contract Program Proposal for the 2012 – 2013 school year.
